Pakistan, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar to the United Kingdom
12 young creatives from Pakistan, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar, were chosen out of hundreds, to travel to the United Kingdom on a two week journey exploring the country behind the media headlines.
In July 2010, Ali, Alizeb, Dana, Fahad, Jena, Mashal, Noor, Reema Salima, Sara, Yasmin and Zoya travelled to the UK to experience British culture first-hand. During their time in the UK, the team worked with young people, politicians, journalists and community organisations.
Their journey began in multicultural East London, working with schools from the five Olympic boroughs, and was then followed by a tour of the Houses of Parliament to meet with politicians and to Parliament Square to interview protesters.
The team then travelled to Bradford and Yorkshire, where activities had a special focus on British Muslim identity and community, as well as on environmental issues and their impact on a global scale, through work with the National Trust. The team then returned to London to prepare for their final celebration at Oxford House in Bethnal Green.

"The best thing about the expedition is that ever since I've come back home from it, I have been totally clear and focused on my goals, objectives and future plans. I've always wanted to have a good professional career, as well as work for the betterment of humanity. I thought the two were difficult to do together, but I believe now that this is possible."
