Call for Artists

The Crossway Foundation and Edge of Arabia, in partnership with Dar Al-Ma'mûn Foundation are inviting Saudi Arabian artists to apply for a visual arts residency in Marrakech.

The residency runs for 2-5 months, is fully subsidised and includes assistance in the production of works and a programme of personalised studio visits from international professionals.

Jeddah Education Workshops

The Crossway Foundation delivered an ambitious education programme during Edge of Arabia's Jeddah exhibition, engaging over 200 local school and university students in the exhibition.

Through free collaborative workshops with artists including Ayman Yossri, Ahmad Angawi And Sarah al-Abdali, we encouraged young people to explore art as a current cultural practice, to explore new and challenging ideas and to integrate new methods into their own artwork.

Create & Inspire 2012

In collaboration with SAGIA, the Crossway Foundation and Edge of Arabia have selected 10 winners of the 2011 Most Competitive Youth competition following a nationwide search for talented young creatives in Saudi Arabia.

The winners will travel to the UK this July on a cultural journey of a lifetime and work with professional artists, designers, museum curators, social entrepeneurs and filmmakers to develop the key skills of leadership, communication and creativity.

Arabia Offscreen Films

In December last year, a group of nine young artists, photographers and filmmakers from the UK, Egypt, Malaysia, Qatar and the UAE set out on a creative journey of a lifetime across Saudi Arabia: Arabia Offscreen. 

The team was given unprecedented access to one of the most fascinating and inspiring cultures in the world and as a result, have created a series of films, which can be seen on www.offscreenexpedition.com

Create & Inspire exhibition at the British Museum

The work of ten young Saudi Artists and photographers inspired by the theme of Islam, Hajj and pilgrimage, is currently on display in the British Museum's Addis Gallery.

They are the winners of the Create & Inspire competition, a search to find talented young creatives living in Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition is presented by Edge of Arabia and the British Museum in partnership with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority and Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives.

The Arabia Offscreen team spent some time with a young Saudi artist based in Jeddah who uses graffiti to express herself and share her thoughts with the wider world.
